There was a point to this story, but it has escaped the chronicler's mind

Je pourrais m'inventer -- ou me réinventer -- juste pour vous, mais j'en ai pas envie. Faudra être patient. Me laisser raconter, tranquillement. Au fil des jours et des anecdotes.

I'm francophone. And I am, amongst other things, a writer. Though quite verbose and known for my occasional literary "obesity," (how else would you call the use of a minimum of four consecutive post-its on the fridge just to say, Honey, I'll be back around 10 and we need milk?)I tend to get very quiet in English. It's not my main language, and I find writing it very limiting. And frustrating. (I.e., it dumbs me down and I resent that -- bad bad pride.) The images of all that I have thought, seen, and would like so much to share dance before my eyes, but they remain locked inside my mind, for lack of enough English words to translate them into stories and anecdotes.

And I am a Reader. Always have been, always will be. To this day, reading is still the only exercise that will allow me to stop thinking completely -- and I desperately need to step away from my life once in a while. Yoga doesn't work that well (I still maintain that breathing is and should be a reflex, an involuntary act, not something you focus on! I choke! I cough! when I have to concentrate on my breathing!), but a great book? A talented author? I'm in heaven and nothing else matters.

I've come across LJ a bit by accident. I have since discovered that LJ can be an amazing source of great reads; that it has attracted some wonderful writers, whose daily chronicles of their lives, and reflections on small or big matters, can be fascinating. I find in them intelligence, energy, sometimes humour, sometimes anger or frustration, sometimes tranquil emotions... it varies with the days and events, but there is always something to be discovered and enjoyed.

For a while I have bookmarked the journals I enjoy reading, slightly intimidated by the word, "Friend" in the phrase Friends list. But my list of bookmarked journals has grown and it has become unmanageable to use the bookmark technique, so I have started adding them to my FList. I am shy, though, a bit lazy too, and I read from work most times, so I rarely take the time to say Hi -- please don't be offended by my silent intrusion. I promise to behave. Really.
